	Doublas Barrel... They wouldn't misspell their own name would they..? Anyone else ever heard of DOUBLAS Barrels.. Maybe it was either Friday afternoon or Monday morning at the Douglas barrel factory. The "GR" followed by the date and serial number, were added by CPA. Pretty sure GR stands for Groove {{{ Found other pictures of CPA Stamp }}} as was said by someone else it stands for Groove.

	Maybe started off as a round blank they milled octagon and restamped the maker.

	"GR" might refer to the Groove Diameter?

	It's easy to see the markings on the barrel are all individually stamped, not the typical rollstamp used by Douglas. So likely whoever fitted the barrel restamped info and grabbed a B instead of a G.

	This pic (link) is of my Badger Barrel done at basically the same time by CPA.. Not sure if the link below opens the picture... At any rate I like the cut rifling that Badger used to do as I like to think the sharper land to groove edge grabbed the lead bullets better. Of course the button vs. cut rifling is a whole separate discussion. 	mistakes in stamping have occurred in some form since the began marking the things. One of my favorites was a Colt Bisley I owned that was repeatedly overstamped in every part that they serialize them back prior to WW1. LOTS of places it had been stamped by one single number- the last one, and that gave two with the same number, so he just took the marker that 'fixed it and whacked it into each piece and sent it on. Among Colt buyers matched numbers are always sought- but I never had one before that matched twice! Those barrels are minor oddities by comparison, huh?

	That's a standard stamping from CPA, it looks just like mine It was a Douglas blank, not sure about the XX, 14 twist, .3761 Groove Dia, made on 8-25-2002, serial 823 My Douglas barrel made by CPA does not have any other markings that would ID it as "Douglas" except under the forearm like yours.

	This is a Douglas barrel blank…end stamp. I believe the XX is a graded barrel. This particular barrel came from CPA. Bob
