22lr Barrel Insert

Will a dedicated 40-65 barrel insert work in a 45-70 chamber? Will the chamber adapter hold the the cartridge straight enough to use? I have a 40-65 dedicated liner but only 45-70 rifles. Am I out of luck without making a new cartridge holder? Thanks.

I would guess you may have to replace the foam rings
with larger diameter to canter the 40 cal 22 LR liner in your 45-70,
Otherwise, seems like the chamber part should line up nicely
in the 45-70 since the base of the 40-65 is the same diameter.

Is it the lee shaver insert? His fits both 40, and 45 cal barrels

No, not a Lee Shaver. The one I have was put together by Ron Long several years ago. I haven't used it because my only 40-65 went down the road awhile back. I was just thinking it may be usable in a 45-70?
