Hard to find English model, nice condition, pre WW I mfg, case hardened, 26" oct/round  barrel, very good bore, factory shotgun butt. $1150.00 shipped. US only (except Alaska or Hawaii) I bought it, put it in the safe and it needs to be rehomed.

Ideal No. 044 ˝  “English Model”.  This rifle was the base grade of a scaled-down version of the 44 ˝ action. The use of smokeless powders required a stronger action in the small frame rifle firing centerfire ammunition such as 25/20 or 32/20. Stevens introduced the 044 ˝ to meet this need naming it the “English Model” and outfitted it with a shotgun butt.
