Westley,

Looking at your last target, there seems to be an abundance of stringing. This can be caused by the case leaking, or not quite enough powder. The holes seem to be nice and round. You might could flare the mouth of your case a bit, and you might come up a little to 17½ grains of 4227. Just a suggestion....

Set my elbow on the glove when I shoot. Elbow softner. Lot's of shooters use some sort of pad.

When it comes to scenery here, it's perty sparse.
Michael Jackson? Didn't she pass on? She did a hell of a moon walk...  Wink

El Boberto, I did the mouth flaring so no leakage. The wind was so bad I was happy to get on target and get some trigger time. The new Winchester case is a little long so I will trim that to length. Yes more powder might be needed. 17.2 has been a good charge in my other 38-55s. Will experiment with breech seating depth also. This Ballard has a very short lead in. Has not been tampered with. Nice. I bet it shoots fixed good. BP fixed maybe.

Bullet candidate # 5. Saeco 570 9G. .377X.372. I've had good luck with this style bullet when cast in soft alloy.

folks come here and say nothing to be seen. heck, it's just that they are used to looking at their trees from arm's length, not seventy miles away.

ah, an elbow pad. I have a nice fluffy blanket that I cover the bench with- guess I just already had what yer glove is doing, huh?
