The Ron Long spitzer measures .379 on the base. A little big but it seats easily and might work. What could possibly go wrong?

Long ago in a galaxy far far away, Ron made a mold almost exactly like yours for me, but the base band is .382 and tapered to fit my highwall at .381. It works extremely well. I would bet it will work well in yours.

I bet it works great.  Wink
Maybe Saturday after the BPCRS match I'll set the rifle on a bench and give it a try. Very windy at Blackfoot however. Weather forecast predicts 23 MPH winds in the afternoon. To windy, I won't bother. I've got a spot here local where if I get set up before six AM I can catch slack wind conditions.
Bullets and powder don't grow on trees these days.  Sad

Bullet candidate # 4. NEI 375-277.  Casts .377 X .365. Bullet is from a like new mold that would not cast a good bullet no matter what I did. Nose pour mold. Finally milled the top of the mold blocks to open the nose. Makes good bullets now. As you can see the minor diameter does not allow the bullet to touch the lands. Might work. Might be to short for a 15 1/2 inch twist.  Undecided

Looks like you are using raspberry jelly for a lube.  Try peanut butter in the first three grooves.  PBJ bullets shoot good!

The lube happens to be Javelina Schuetzen lube.

Peanut butter? I bet it would work but it has salt in it. Might still work. Do you use peanut butter for lube, Jack?

I tried it for a while. First I used the chunky style but I got too many flyers and the chunks would make inserting the breech seating case hard at times. Then I tried Skippy creamy with good results. I had to give it up though when the lead levels in my blood spiked from licking my fingers.  The other issue was squirrels would gnaw on my targets between shots.

It's my new favorite rifle. The wind was howling at Blackfoot yesterday so no shooting. The old Lincoln blew out a ball joint at 70 MPH on the way home. Have to deal with that tomorrow. Luckily I kept it off the wall. Mario would be proud of me.

Going to shoot the new Ballard soon.
