I read that piece years ago but I could swear it was published in ' Precision Shooting '. But then I'm sure it got around. Great concise read

It has been a long time since I read and re-read and read again this article It was partially responsible for me getting into single shots to begin with, along with the input from a co-worker at the time.

I see that he liked loading his cases with a wad placed right on top of the powder. Are there many people doing that today?

That was the one thing that caught my eye. I avoid wads completely on smokeless powders. Always heard they could ring a chamber.

That's one of my favorite articles about competition shooting.  I've referred this article to many people.  It's as pertinent today as it was when written.

One of if not the Best article I've read about precision shooting.  I've referred it to many over the years.  I bought that Hornady Manual when it came out,  it was my first reloading manual, and I still have it,  pages of notes and footnotes in it.
