A factory barrel.  Now I'm even more impressed!

What can I say Wes, the rifle likes fat bottom soft bullets. Queen made a song about that. Here is the chorus.

Are you gonna take me to the range tonight?
Oh, down beside that shooting bench
Are you gonna let it all hang out?
Fat bottomed bullets
You make the shootin’ world go 'round

Jack, if yer gonna go the hitech numbers AI route to finding THE load, I just figure your bullet dimensions should be accurate. Now you gotta re-calculate everything.
You did say the rifles groove dia is .320, didn't ya? Not .323.

.320-321 is what I measured, but none of my .321-322 bullets have done well. It is all voodoo to me. I just send a few hundred pounds of lead down range and wee what works. I found that this rifle seems to like 30-1 alloy better than my usual 20-1 by accident. The Accurate 32-185P bullets that shot the first target in this thread were in the back of my storage shelf and the first box was labeled in a manner that made me think that 1/2 were were 20-1 and the other 1/3 were 30-1.  It wasn’t until I got home and weighed them that I found the 30-1 shot that first group.  I had tried the Hoch mould in 20-1 earlier with mediocre results. At this point I will do some additional experiments with it in 30-1.

When I use groove diameter or smaller bullets I use soft alloy and more powder. Works for me. Saves lead and tin. I'm on a budget.  Embarrassed

You're doing good with a hundred plus year old barrel.
