Thought I should mention here that we now have a bullet available for vintage 40 caliber Sharps rifles that have bore/groove diameter on the tight side.
We have a custom designed tapered Postell type bullet at about 380 grain depending on the alloy used.  It is 1.3" in length and confirmed to shoot well in rifles with 1/18" twist rifling.
It has six drive bands and five lube grooves.  The drive bands are progressively tapered with the top band measuring .401" diameter and the bottom band at .404" diameter.
