32 Dell load data

Print Post
I recently bought a Meacham 1885 from ssdave and want to get it to the range in the next few weeks.  It's chambered in .32 Dell / .32-357.  I don't have access to a lot of the different powders that you guys do in America, but I can get Ramshot Enforcer locally, or I can mail order some AA #9.   Is one likely to be better than the other?

I'm looking for starting loads for both of these powders with a Hoch 322200 bullet.

Thanks,
Chris.

I don't have a 32 on the Max case but, I have both a 30 and 33 on the full length case. #9 is the only one that works in both of them.

Frank this one uses the 357 mag. case with a straight taper to 32.

The Rimshot should be a good powder.  Supposedly the same as Accurate 4100.  I assume you will be breech seating it.  I have had good luck with about 12.8 gr of 4100 with that bullet.  I believe it is around 1450 fps out of a 14.5 twist BRC barrel.

Thanks.  That'll give me a basis to start from.  I'll back it off a grain and see what the chronograph says to start.  I haven't checked the twist yet, but I believe it's tight.  In addition to that mold, it also came with a much longer version of that bullet.  More than 1.4" long!  It's an 8 groove cut rifled barrel.

Your may want to try  Lil Gun or 4227 also.
I have a killer fixed load of 12.80 4227 with a 185 Hudson for offhand.
12.0 Lil Gun breech
300MP 13.0 mag primer...still playing with this one.
This case is about one grain off from original 32 Ideal. I  drew up my chamber print using 32-357 with a 1/2" straight case for fixed if I wanted it. Has been working very well in my 32 Ideal..modern  ...Zischang Borchardt. Cases are bomb proof and will never wear out with these loads. Hope that helps....

Thanks.  I hadn't considered 4227 because I read an old post about it not working well in this case.  I'll give it a try since I already have it for my 32-40's and 38-55's

I think I can also find lil'gun here too.
