Try Lee Shaver.  His muzzle loader sight also works on a trapdoor.

As far as I know there is no tang sight made that is expressly made for the trapdoor Springfield. The Sharps sight seems to be the correct angle. I have mounted two of them on Springfields with a long steel tang inletted on top of the wrist to hold the sight. A Soule style sight needs to be mounted quite far back on the wrist as the zero is fairly high up the sight staff. You will probably need a taller front sight as well. I used the MVA sight for the '77 Sharps on my trapdoor sporter as it is more of a hunting rifle and I don't need as much windage on it. You need to mount it back far enough to get away from the hammer. Here is a picture of one I did. The long tang goes under the original tang and is held in place with the original tang and tang screw.

The officer's model trapdoor used several basic  tang sights, both were screwed directly into the wood. If you can have a tang extension welded to the original tang I think that would be a more secure mounting but either way works. He H&R replica officer's model came with an accurate copy of one of the tang sights used . The other one was a basic Sharps tang sight. The Marksman's model trapdoor also used a tang sight. I think the H&R sights might be available from parts suppliers. If you do  a Google search for Springfield trapdoor Officer's model you should be able to find examples of what the originals looked like. You can probably get a Pedersoli tang sight which they use on thier officer's model trapdoor. Otherwise, the book "The 45-70 Springfield" by Frasca and Hill show several original tang sights on the officer's model and the Marksman's model.
I put an MVA on mine.
Good luck!
Joe

Thank you Mr. Deadeye Bly.  That looks very good and is about what I would like.
Mr. Joe-S thank you for your reply. I have not had good experience with Pedersoli sights so will stay away from those.
I do like Lee Shaver sights.
My need to improve my sights is due to my aging eye sight is no longer compatible with the Buffington sight.  I have done some fine shooting with the Buffington sight when I was younger but I just cant see through that little peep hole so far from my eye any more.

Whatever you decide, a Hadley eyecup is probably the best upgrade a person can make to a tang sight
I think Lee Shaver can provide one for any sight you want
