Double-barreled rifle made around 1842-48 in Fredericia, Denmark by gunsmith Heinrich Jacob Christian Berg.

He was born on October 6, 1827, baptized on November 16, 1827 in Schleswig. He died on October 20, 1906 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa.

He was probably trained by his father Ludwig Friedrich Berg, a gunsmith in the Danish army, among others in Fredericia, Denmark.

Heinrich J. C. Berg, in USA he used the name Henry

He volunteered in 1848 in the Schleswig-Holstein Free Corps and participated in the Battle of Bov.

In August 1848 he transferred to the 4th Jäger Corps, 2nd Company (Oberjäger).

He was dismissed from the Schleswig-Holstein army on March 11, 1851 and quickly emigrated to the USA.

In 1852, Berg lived in St. Louis and moved to Davenport in 1853.

Here he settled as a gunsmith and arms dealer.

The rifle is owned by a Danish collector.
