RE:  Approx cost to profile, chamber, thread barrel..Blue..?

I have a couple of barrels I want to have mounted on 2 different High Walls. Any idea of cost to perform these machine tasks..?

Gunsmith..?

I'd prefer to stay within a couple of hundred miles of N.E. Florida.

TIA

Bob

I recently had those same tasks done, except I had cleanup only done on the barrel diameter for $500 shipped.  Not close to Florida though.

If your $500 charge included profiling a barrel, you got a good deal. Profiling a barrel is the single firearms related task I dislike more than any other.

The blank was turned to a non-taper smooth finish with a 1.238" diameter per my request.

So Jack,

Do you mind sharing what caliber, length and weight of that rifle?
AT 1.238" diameter it must be pretty heavy..

THX.

The barrel is 27-1/2" and it is chambered in 32 RKS.

The forend was one from my bone yard I might end up shortening it.

I haven't been shooting it enough to figure out a good load since I have been concentrating of getting several rifles ready for the Tacoma spring single shot match.  I haven't found a load/bullet/seater depth that gives consistent velocities yet.  The next outing I will have 6-7 different bullets to test.
