I bought a german Schuetzen rifle in parts. barrell is marked 10849 I looked in a few of my cartridge books and cant find anything thanks Ken

Hopefully someone will be along who is more familiar with that cartridge enumerating system than I but, I don't believe you have a 10.8 caliber Schuetzen rifle.  That's slightly over 40 caliber.  The most common is the 8.15 X 46R and I think the 'spud' size for that caliber is 108.  As always, I am subject to correction.

Make a chamber cast that includes 3/4 - 1" of the bore.
