Engraved Rem Hepburn under lever conversion

I just ran across these pics of a Hepburn done w/an underlever conversion.
I did the engraving probably 20 yrs ago now.

I never was given the bbl to engrave. don't know what cal it was made into,,Never did see the completed rifle.
IIRC the breech block was CF, that's all.

The underlever was a rough casting. I do remember that it took me a lot of hours to file it out and polish it.

I had to polish out the action and parts before engraving.\
I took the liberty of removing the Pat# info(?) that was stamped on the bottom edge of the LH side.
I placed that info, hand lettering, on the the top tang right behind the hammer.

The Remington Schuetzen logo I had a print of from some other jobs. Other than that logo which was supposed to engraved, the rest of the pattern I made up myself.

Be still my heart!
That's simply magnificent work! I have an engraved Hepburn I built up and had some minimal engraving done on. Always liked it, but now seeing your work it certainly is well above what is done on mine!

I'm not overly taken by engraving on rifles that have unique features on their own- like the underlever conversion. That does not preclude my admiration for your superb rendition of this piece. Bravo.

Outstanding! I have not been too impressed with more current engraved Hepburns, but this is a major exception. Beautifully done.

Wow, that took a minute or two!

Can you show a picture with the lever?

I hope a member of this Forum owns the gun and will post photos of the completed rifle.

I did the engraving probably 20 yrs ago now.

Very similar engraving of the rifle pictured on the back of the dust cover of Tom Rowe's Hepburn book?
