25-20 advice needed.

I have two 25 cal barrels one a lilja 1 in 8 twist 3R
Rifleing ready to chamber and used on an original 44 1/2
Stevens. The other is a BRC barrel 1 in 10 twist
and has choked rifling, may be mounted on a Win
Winder receiver.
My question is wether to chamber them in 25-20 WCF
or 25-20 SS. I have at least 100 cases of each.
So which would you suggest is best and why. Also what loads would you suggest
Thank you for any advice offered

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I'd chamber for .25-20WF simply based on future availability of more brass, and dies, etc. Everything will be cheaper and easier with the .25-20WCF.

Two barrels, two choices. Since you are lucky enough to have 25-20SS cases, I'd be inclined to chamber your 44 1/2 in that round. But I'm a sucker for obsolete calibers. For the "modern" 25-20, I have only one, a Marlin 27S. So far, I've had little success with cast bullets; still working with a Lyman mold for 65 gr GC. Jacketed bullets do well, however. The Speer 75 is my favorite, but appears to be discontinued. Hornady 60 JFP is my current choice, mostly over IMR-4198. I plan to try some Reloder 7, but that's another story.

I'm in my mid 80's so not too concerned about dow the line. I am most interested in accuracy and which seems to be most likely to perform

The mold I purchased for these two barrels with their high rate of twist is a NOE plain base 118 grain spitzer. I have no idea what kind of loads I'll need

If you had any interest in shooting black powder I would suggest the 25-20 SS.  It worked over 100 years ago and still works now.  Charlie

The internal case capacity is almost identical between the 25/20 SS and the 25/20 WCF so, the same loads will produce near identical results.

Since you have brass for both, I'd chamber the Stevens in the Stevens caliber of SS and the Winder in the WCF. May as well use it up.
