The main thing for me is not having any assra sanctioned matches around me. The magazine is really nice, but I have been able to get all the information I need here from the expertise on the forum

You make some very valid points for sure. Though I personally can't compete I realize all too well that sanctioned shoots are frankly very few and more often require covering lots miles. I'd be interested in just how many miles somebody like Westerner travels a year to score so well all the time. Driving like he does is tough on the body so how does he do it. For me I'm a member because I strongly believe in support especially for a historic sport with so much technical depth and camaraderie. The magazine is a cherry on top that under Joe's control just gets better with every issue. Where else can you find such history and information

I rarely stray more than 30 miles from home.  Most of the old single shot guys I know are dead.  Just compete against my self, on as many Tuesdays as my body and the weather permit.  But I'm still a member.  Just renewed.

I'm pushing 86 and I have 3 Ballards, a Borchardt that was a bad investment, a Farrow that wasn't, a couple of Low Walls, 3 Winders, 3 real High Walls & a Spaghetti, a #5 roller that I need to do something with, a BSA International, 2 Stevens and a few that I'm unsure of.
