This is/was my favorite self-built .25 cal. S.S. match rifle with a couple of typical targets that were shot back in the days when I could see to shoot ASSRA matches competitively.
Following are the specs. of this rifle as built in 2007. Weight is 13 pounds 2 ounces. Standard scope blocks on 8 inch centers.  Action is a pistol grip Ballard forced frame with double set triggers. Ball and spur lever. Barrel is a Shilen 8 groove #4 weight octagon 1:12 inch twist, length at 27 inches and chambered for .25-20 single shot cartridge. Targets shot with 99 grain bullet, molds by F. Zika and W. Vietz. Also palm rest as shown. Stock is by me of European walnut with fiddleback grain. Left hand cheek piece. Checkering by Doug Mann. Rifle available in Illinois at $$3k to go. My intention being to bring it to the ASSRA spring match in May if it’s still available. I don’t ship! Any questions will be answered politely at 815-258-2270.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!
