Hmmm. I for one check in here more than I check my emails anymore. Now if notifications could be set up via text messages, that would be something. (Spoken as a 70-odd year old Luddite who's sick of wading through piles of ads, spam, and drivel that my email has become just to suss out one or two "good" emails. And this with blockers in place. And no, at this point in my life when I've rounded third base and am lunging for home plate I'm not inclined to try fixing it anymore. It's simpler to ignore it!)
