Shiloh 40-50 SBN Problem
Jan 26th, 2026 at 1:36pm
Print Post
I finally got around to trimming (1.690" OAL) and forming brass using C4HD sharps-shiloh FL set. They are 0.050" short of going all the way in. I dykem'd a case a tapped it in and it shows it is stopping on the shoulder. Anyone else have this issue. I will probably have to talk to Shiloh and C4HD.

After checking my PTG reamer and other measurements it appears that the FL die is cut about 0.050" to deep. I will have to put it to C4HD.
Thank you,
Charles

I had the same problem when I had mine. Same dies but a reground reamer from a 45-70. Wound up putting them in my lathe and taking a little off the dia. Fire formed and they were fine after that.

As predicted from a prominent supplier I am getting nowhere with C4HD. I will write up the entire process once I calm down.
