They look great to me. Can't wait to see the completed rifle. Glad you finally received everything.

Thanks Dale! I'll get started tomorrow and get it mostly completed, except final finish on the new forearm.

Looks great! I haven't cleaned the oil off yet to really get a good look at these colors, but expect they'll only get better once I do.

Accepted on the 20th and delivered on the 29th. I wish I could get stuff delivered so quickly. My last 3 Priority shipments have been 11 days, 10 days, and 14 days. Congratulations

Here in West MI the Grand Rapid papers are writing that the USPS is broken. That state reps are pushing on them in Washington along with a dozen or more other states asking what is wrong. Here in Western, MI our deliveries are every other day at best but my regular mail including bills, medical, mags etc. are bottled up. The consensus here in Michigan is it takes about two weeks to get your mail.

I like the idea of grabbing signs and hitting the streets in protest except we all have jobs

Sent it to Al on a Friday and he had it Monday! Must be a headwind coming back?

Reassembled the Ballard with the parts from Al. Still need to put maybe 10 coats of finish on the forearm before it matches the stock finish. But had to see how it looks all together!

The .40-50SS Schoyen barrel had a wide dovetail ahead of the forearm likely for some sort of built in rest? I need to design and build something to fit this dovetail so the fugly filler can be removed.

How did you find such a neat rifle Vall,  Oh yeah.... I saw it first on eBay and notified you.  Quite the adventure to get all the parts.  It turned out great.

UPS must have more aerodynamic vehicles that can cut through the headwind better.  My 20x Super Targetspot scope left Cody Wyoming on Tuesday and showed up this morning.

They used that super aerodynamic vehicle to get to Montana, but it must have been down for repairs when the parts came back!

Well, USPS has struck me twice in 1 week

1.  Mailed my year end package with electronic backup to my accountant Monday a week ago.  Used their kiosk (large tyvek envelope), accepted their scale weight, printed their large label and dropped it in the mail.  Saturday evening when I was picking up my mail, it was it it, hand stamped "postage due".
With Monday being a holiday and I had people waiting for my accountant to finish up for the year, I drove an hour and a half to north Austin to deliver it then the same back home.
2.  I purchased a 30" "5 Winchester barrel from a member here.  Tracking says it would be here last Saturday.
It was delivered today or should I say the empty tube was delivered today.  Tube ripped open about 5" from end then taped back up empty and tube was delivered to my house.
I took it to the PO wanting to speak with the postmaster about both items.  Directed 1/2 mile away to the PO service center but the postmaster was gone before 4pm.
I'll have to return tomorrow.  I'm so ready for Elon Musk to get his Optimus humanoid robots in full production to replace these clowns.  These guys just look at you and tell you to go online a file a claim.
