Borescope photos

Although the rifle is not a single shot, I thought I’d share a couple of borescope photos.  The deer season has ended in Texas, so I was cleaning the rifle prior to storing it in the safe until neck season & took the photos afterwards.

They say if you use a borescope to check the condition of your rifle bore you’ll be disappointed.  Here’s some photos of the rifle bore of a Marlin 336 30-30 I bought brand new back in 2006.  With a 3x9 scope set on 9 power, one inch at 100yds is typical.  At last count the rifle has taken over 50 deer, a few as far as 200yds, & a lot of feral hogs.  The entire bore is in the same condition as the photos.

BTW, I have never shot cast bullets in the rifle.  If I did, I would not be surprised to have bore leading issues.

My 32-40 Green Mountain barrel.  It shoots 1" 200 yds groups when the conditions are right.
