Yes Rodney retired so I didn't message him. Don't remember who took over.

Not sure about this machine rest, but Rodney did have some items left. Best to just ask him in a PM.

Thanks for the drawings and explanations.  This also helps me understand some flaws in my benchrest setup.

How do you find accuracy with the Pope style rest compared to using a muzzle sled or a wide forearm?

thanks,

Chris.

Chris
IMO, using a rear sand bag and muzzle sled gives me better groups over a wide forestock but that's with traditional style rifles. The Pope machine rest also uses a muzzle sled and again IMO, gives me slightly better groups than sand bag and muzzle sled. Your mileage may vary.
The Pope rest does require more setup time and is slower shot-to-shot than either sand bag and muzzle sled or wide forestock which can be a factor in competition. Also the Pope rest is not allowed in ISSA matches and only in traditional class under ASSRA rules BUT the Pope is a lot of fun to use  Wink

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.
