What velocities are you folks getting in your original Hiwall .32-20s? I’m interested in accuracy more so than “ It didn’t blow up the action.”
Thanks.

Call me crazy but I would much rather have a 32 H&R mag in the 1885 than the .32-20. I know it's not traditional but it's more practical and more accurate. The 1885 design is time worthy for most any caliber!

though the .32-20 can match .32 H&R ballistics from a rifle. Key differences are case design (bottleneck vs. straight), power (H&R is generally stronger in handguns), and reloading (H&R is simpler)

My notes suggest this load is the most accurate:
Original low wall with the addition of scope blocks.

115 gr bullet
Lyman.  311008BD
9.7 grains      4227
1250 fps

I have a relined Low Wall in .32-20.  My favorite load of 11.0 gr SR-4759 behind the 115-gr Ideal 3118 was around 1650 ft/sec, depending on the primer used.

For a little bit better ballistics, you might try the 130 gr, 311410 PB mold.
