New Member information about Lyman 438 Field Scope (Read 133 times)

	Hello I recently obtained a Lyman 438 Field scope and am trying to get some idea as to what it is worth. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Pics to follow.

	Make sure to also describe the condition of the optics. Cross hairs, lenses, etc.

	It will have to be a sharp picture before you send it. Brace the phone on the table, use both hands, put the focus on something like the turret knob on the scope. Check the result for focus. If it isn't, try it again and again until it is.

The exterior of the scope is a brown patina which can probably be observed from the photos I managed to attach. It has cross hairs. NOT the post that appears to have been an option. They are crisp and clear as are the lenses. The mounts are as pictured. They function as they should.

	That worked. If they are minty bluing they go anywhere from $300 to maybe $375. With very little finish I'd expect it to be around $250 with good crosshairs and clear lenses.

	If it’s not sold already I would be interested, if it has clear optics and preferably no dents. I restored one a couple years ago and this looks to be a good candidate for that. Not as nice of mounts on this one, but they will work. Bob
