Crackshot Side Lever

Just bought a beautiful Crackshot with most of its case color intact, it has an odd side lever. I rarely see the side levers anyway and this one looks different. Let me know what you think. Also grabbed this Winchester 1902, the bore looks new, wood has some dents as expected.

Congrats on your purchases.  The side lever on the Crack shot looks like a home made replacement.  It shouldn't be too hard to find a correct lever for it. I would only shoot standard velocity ammo or low power ammo in it, as the action isn't a strong one.

I was going to say the same thing, I own 2 crackshots and the lever looks wrong. Very weak action I shoot cb shorts or 22 quiets in mine.

I have also never seen a lever like that. If it works O.K. I wouldn't sweat it because otherwise it looks like a nice rifle as does the 1902. CB shorts are surprisingly accurate in these rifles and are great in the barn because past 50 feet they won't penetrate a metal roof.

Neil,

Ill try the CB shorts, thanks for the recommendation.

Jonathan,

I don't think I’ll change it, if I get real interested I may make one. I can buy one for half of what I spent on the rifle. It doesn’t bother me enough to justify that.
