Beware that the Savage barrels are 1:12 but most  do not shot 40 grainers very well and 39 grain sierras are marginal. I have a 26" shot out throat savage heavy varmint take off which my wife won most 200 yd matches she shot with it (32 gr Hornadys @ 4150fps) until it finally gave up the ghost. If shortened to 22"  it may be fine. But I assume you are looking for new take offs so check with (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) who occasionally have them.
