Thanks Jack. Rifle is the rosewood stocked Ballard 38-55. Used my usual assorted miss-matched array of left over BP ammo.

Joe, so you found a rifle to fit your bullets?

Exactly. Rifle has a large chamber that will accomodate any old discarded left over spare ammo I can dig up. And since tin is mighty dear these days I don't use much, so the bullets are soft and bump up to fit the bore nicely. If I had taken any other rifle, would have had to make new fresh ammo. Bullets used were Saeco 300 grainers, Saeco 250 grainers, Ron Long spitzers, ten Hudson Bullets, 290 grain bullets out of a Accurate mold, Hoch 310 grainers and some pointy bullets I loaded about ten years ago. All BP loads with varying powder charges. Two or three different primers. Had to make a couple sight adjustments. The Winchester ram ammo shot highest. There were two shots that I really had no idea what they were. Might have been Saeco 225 grainers I used at Hamilton a few years ago. It all averaged out. Ted is hard to beat at Butte.
