You said it was a rimfire. What cartridge? Did you take off the original barrel? Could it be made into an 22 LR or would it require a different block? Are the missing and broken parts available anywhere?
I have very little knowledge of rollers.

I can answer some of your questions. Since the #1 1/2 and #1 share almost all parts, there's no problem getting parts for a #1 1/2. Likely either Womack's Rolling Block Parts, or Numrich Gun Parts will have any of those parts you might need.

I have what I think is a 1 1/2 barrel. .850 major diameter and 1.4 inches long thread. It will screw into a #2 action but is too long. Marked Remington Arms and 25 CF, serial number 4213. The bore is .320 with calipers so it may have been drilled out. A 32-20 case fits loose in the chamber. Will list it if someone buys this and is interested.

My interest would be a bpcr 22. That’s why I asked about the breech block. If it was originally for a bigger rimfire cartridge, the firing pin wouldn’t be positioned for the 22, correct?
Would an extractor for a 22LR have to be made by a machinist?
Is the firing pin frozen by rust or is it the retaining screw?

Hello,

Yes, I took the barrel off, barrel was chambered in 22.
Firing pin is rusted/frozen in place, soaking it may release it, however, I would cut it out and bush the breach block for a new firing pin hole. Parts are plentiful, same as a #1, also easy to make or modify.

Hope this helped, Nathan

A good welder can easily build up the extractor to make enough length to work for .22RF cases. It needs to be tig welded, and I have a young guy whose done several for me on different projects.

Just remember the #1 sporting uses a straight bar extractor while the #1 1/2 uses a rotary extractor.  Also the #1 sporting is typically 1.245 inches wide while the #1 1/2 is narrower (about 1.18 wide).

Ken,
Where would a person find a rotary extractor for a 22 RF?

Ken sells rotary extractors, at Rolling Block Parts. If he doesn’t have one for a 22, one for a larger cartridge can be annealed and filed to fit, or weld on a blank and file to fit.
