1864 Trapdoor barrel

I recently acquired an early trap door conversion of a CW musket, lock dated Springfield 1864.The 19" barrel shows some tool marks and the witness marks are slightly misaligned. Curiously it bears Belgian proof marks. If it's a replacement, it's OLD. It's a 45-70, not 50-70, so is it a Model 1868? It has the spring-driven extractor(the spring is broken). Comments?

The caliber didn't affect the model but the 68s were 50-70. If the trap is hinged to the barrel it is not an 1868. The 1868s were not CW conversions. Do I have that correctly? If the trap is hinged to the barrel I would not personally shoot a 45-70 in it.

The '68s have a long section of the receiver that the barrel screws into, longer than the '70 or '73, and are easily identified by this. All '68s were 50/70 caliber.

The barrel is too short, also.

Thanks for the comments. The barrel and forearm have been shortened. Lock plate is dated 1864.The spring-powered ejector extends through the bottom of the receiver. The first 2-1/2" of the barrel has 5 flatsabove the wood. The rear sight is original. The trap door has a tomahawk-shaped stamp which also appears on the Liege-proofed barrel. The barrel has a 1 68 stamp(Jan. 1868?). The trap door has no "U.S. Model, 18__".
