And it's only going to get worse with Christmas upon us.

Are you shipping Priority Mail or Ground Advantage? I haven't had any problems with Priority but Ground is awful. I ship daily.

I'm 9 days in on a USPS Prority flat rate envelope going 1300 miles. Last time it was scanned it had traveled 350 miles so far.

December 18, 2024 I sent Christmas Gifts from Springtown, Texas (outside of Fort Worth) to Chandler, AZ (Metro Phoenix) Priority to my young granddaughter. They arrived on Valentines Day. I tracked them from Texas to Memphis, then Chicago to Los Angles and finally to Chandler. The Post Office told me when you pay for Priority Shipping arrival is only estimated date.

PS: the good news nothing was broken!!!

And they keep raising their rates. Makes me think about starting a better delivery service.

I've had horrible results with USPS, but wont bore everyone with how many times they've broken, stolen, or taken a month to finally deliver something.
UPS has been far better, but they screw up too. Once to our benefit when I got a knock on the door one day and a big box sitting on the porch. It had my wife's name on it, so I brought it in and helped her open it. She said she hadn't ordered anything, but the box was full of garden tools! All fiberglass handles, and 8 different tools that included hoes, rakes, shovels, etc., etc. It all came from a Tractor Supply store, so I called their 800 number and gave them the shipping info number. They said the tools were ordered by a woman in Virginia with the same name, and somehow UPS sent it to my wife instead.
I asked the person on the phone if they wanted to arrange for UPS to come pick them up and he told me to "just take them to your local Tractor Supply store". I told him the local store was 45 miles north of me and I didn't work for Tractor Supply, so he better arrange pickup. He told me to just keep them, and they'd send another set too the right person. So we've got a lot of use out of these high quality garden tools!

Similar to my experience with recent priority.

One thing I’ve noticed with USPS priority is west to east coast is 2-3 days. Return trip is 5-7 passing through exact same locations.

Then there was my passport renewal. Was willing to pay over night, clerk told me not to, “Priority gets there faster, with less chance of getting lost”. Kind of an interesting business model.

Since Priority isn't a guaranteed time frame, there's always a chance it can take many times the estimated time. I've had 3 day Priority take a couple weeks occasionally with no explanation why.
