Browning B78 pistol grip cap

Has anyone removed the black plastic Pachmayr grip cap and stainless medallion on a Browning B78 and then reinstalled?  If so, please describe how you did it.

I am making replacement medallions for my rifles that have lost theirs and I don't want to install them in a way that prevents future removal, nor do I want to have them fall out again.

I have purchased a few 78s over the years missing the oval. Back then I could buy replacement ovals from Gary Chatham down in Texas. I say all that to say I would epoxy them back into the plastic gripcap and in 25 years of hunting with them in hot weather to subzero theyve never fallen back out. You can see how little glue the factory used. Once glued in I cant see why youd ever need to remove them?

Epoxy should certainly keep it in place.  The only reason to remove it I can think of would be to refinish the stock.  Some folks apparently don't care for the glossy finish and I think they would have had to remove the grip cap, then reinstall.  I'm leaning toward the epoxy option with no intention of messing with perfection (except for the medallions falling out).
