My son and I walked up on this guy last weekend of season.

We spotted a spike buck bedded down below us in a draw. After a minute of two of watching that one I noticed the curve of this guys antler in some brush. He never know what hit him.

Ballard Pacific 45-100, 500 grain paper patch BACO bullet.

great experience for all- well, maybe not the buck. but being with dad while he takes great game with an antique rifle is a thing the lad will recall for a lifetime. may have the same experience down the road with his boy and dad's ol' rifle.  Smiley

Nice buck with a nice pacific model Ballard and even a paper patched bullet , Slim Pickens would say that is down right romantic 😄 , well done a great experience for father and son

And a Ballard Pacific strikes again!  Great experience for both of you.  My Pacific is a 40-85 but it hasn't made meat for me yet.  Tom
