Found this bit of loading advice looking for information on the 7.7x46r cartridge.

Quote:

Remember your Schuetzen is as temperamental as a pregnant female. Experiment until you hit the right load for your particular rifle and you have a very accurate weapon, excellent for offhand shooting, and one that is a downright pleasure to shoot

Gun magazines certainly look different these days, don't they?

The thing that jumps out at me is the quality of the articles, and the lack of advertisements! Makes me wonder if such quality could even survive in today's environment when gun magazines have to have articles on the latest whiz bang guns, and plenty of ads.

Considering that most current articles seem to be thinly veiled paid advertisements, I don’t think publishers could afford the revenue loss.

I’m guessing pontoon hunting boots didn’t go over real well! As noted in the article.

“A certain amount of good balance is needed to use the pontoon hunting boots, but once this minor problem is solved….”.  Grin

First I’ve ever heard of them.

Never heard of a pontoon hunting boot, but I owned a small 9.5 ft. pontoon fishing boat that would be similar. They are extremely stable, and I'd have no issue hunting from mine if I ever considered it. I fought some big fish in it and never felt concerned about flipping it. Unlike my canoe that I flipped over just setting the hook on a big bass! Sold the canoe right after that, and bought the pontoon boat.
I can't imagine trying to keep your feet together as you're hunting, or shooting!

The original Herter's sold them, maybe even made them.  Went to their place in Waseca, MN back in 1959.  Saw them there.  They were called "bog shoes".  Room for a couple of boxes of shells, maybe even your shotgun.

Might work in muck, cattails, etc. if you shuffled along.  Suicidal in open water.  Always thought you needed body-builder leg muscles and a long pole (maybe 2) for balance to make them work.
