I am in need of a firing pin and spring (new style) for my Sharps 1874. I have attached a pix of what I need. Where is the best place to order?
Thanks

How did you replace them? Looks like drilling out the pin is involved

I took out the breechblock, slid the dovetail cover off, took out the firing pin transfer body, shook out the pieces of the broken tip, hooked out the little spring, and ran a Q-Tip into the hole to clean it out.
Then I put the little spring around the new tip, carefully introduced it into the hole, put the firing pin body back, slid the dovetail cover back on, pressed the back of the transfer body to make sure the pin protruded properly out of the front of the block and put the block back into the rifle.

Hawkeye
After taking the firing pin out, it looks like this.
Do I have to buy the entire piece?

Folks
Thanks to everyone who has responded. I actually took the firing pin out of by 1874 Custom built (by Bill Bagwell) Sharps rifle and it looks like the pix below. It looks like to me that actual firing pin is built as a single piece so replacing just the firing pin is not something that can be done. Am I correct?
I will discuss with Shiloh tomorrow.

I don't know if there is a way to separate the pin from the transfer bar and all, but neither do I understand why you seem to think it needs replacing- looks complete to me. But, what do I know?

I am getting about 50% of the strikes that does not fire. Re-cock and pull trigger again, then it goes bang.
Firing pin only protrudes about 0.038" out from the block. The firing pin is slightly rounded off.
Not a primer issue as they shoot in my other rifles

Sunffy, when you call Shiloh talk to Kirk, he may be able to come up with a solution.

A somewhat common practice is to cut off the tip & drill out the larger portion of the firing pin. Then Loctite in a correct diameter pin. Cut it to the desired length & round off the tip.
