Apparently a lot of those Remington made 79s were never issued and just knocked around the armory until they were spruced up for sale.

Is it hard on the brass like I've read about the Argentine rollers? Reports said the chambers tend to pull the necks off after a few firings.

It didn't on mine, of course I only necksized. Mine did have a  large freebore so bullets could be seated out for more powder space so sort of like a 43-90 if you wanted.
