I used to look at bores all the time and make judgements about how well they would shoot. In fairness, more often than not, it's probably a good indicator. However, I have worked on a number of rifles (Schuetzen, F-Class, and Benchrest) that were exceptional shooters. Some of them Sub-MOA 1000-yard rifles. Out of curiosity I'd look at the bores, and they would have so much throat erosion you'd toss the barrel if you didn't know they shot so well. Now I don't even look (well I try not to) unless a rifle starts to lose accuracy or cases become hard to chamber or extract. Just my 2-cents. Chris

In my experience a bore light and the naked eye is all I ever needed to inspect a bore. A borescope can certainly provide more information but you have to get used to the idea that under magnification it’s not going to look as smooth as you thought it would.  I assume that after a while you will learn what to worry about and what not to worry about.
Until then if it shoots to your satisfaction don’t worry about it
Just my two cents fwiw
Good luck!

I used to think that, until a bore scope showed damage in a bore that had been looked at many times with a bore light and naked eye. Even a light and a brass tube with lenses in it did not show the damage. Several people looked in that bore but the damage could not be seen.
