I used to look at bores all the time and make judgements about how well they would shoot. In fairness, more often than not, it's probably a good indicator. However, I have worked on a number of rifles (Schuetzen, F-Class, and Benchrest) that were exceptional shooters. Some of them Sub-MOA 1000-yard rifles. Out of curiosity I'd look at the bores, and they would have so much throat erosion you'd toss the barrel if you didn't know they shot so well. Now I don't even look (well I try not to) unless a rifle starts to lose accuracy or cases become hard to chamber or extract. Just my 2-cents. Chris
