Is there anyone making reproduction Diopter sights for the old schutzen rifles? Have a friend in need of one. They are the ones with the square shank that is inset into the stock.

Someday I'd like to do that work but right now best bet is to search eBay, for example -

The tricky thing is each maker had their own style of fitting to the base , e.g a Haenel diopter won't fit into a Kessler-Martini base. So knowing or asking for exact dimensions of the base is important.

Those sights come up often on egun.de if you can read German.

Same goes for ebay.de and gunfinder.de

Most Germans can atleast read English even if they don't want to speak/write it. You can communicate by using Google translate.
  
If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.
