Okay CG, now give us the particulars.
Thanks for taking care of this Joe!
The particulars-
Ballard Pacific from the Tulsa gun show on Saturday morning. I usually see a rifle, walk around and think about it for a while, then go back to deal.
I talked to the guy and he made me a sweet deal.
I didn’t want to chance losing it to someone else, so I bought it on the spot.
11 1/4 lbs., freshly lined 32” long barrel, 38-55, 2.125” chamber. The liner has, get this, a LH twist just like Harry said it should be. The lever closes nice and snug. As you can see, it has a wiping rod, but no idea if it’s original or not, while the tang sight sure looks like it could be.
I now understand why everyone raves about Ballard DSTs. These triggers feel the same whether the hammer is cocked or not.
A friend called to have me meet him at a particular table where I bought an orphan barreled action LowWall at 10:30. I backtracked to where I had been when he called, saw this Pacific and bought it less than 30 minutes later.
I had a most excellent morning with 2 great deals before noon.
