Beautiful work, and wood,  but something definitely seems off, but can't put my finger on it.  Maybe it's that I'm used to that type of woodvon Kentucky rifles?

The checkering looks really fresh like it was done recently, and for whatever reason also left unsealed or unfinished on the checkering. Might improve the looks had they simply applied some finish to the raw checkering.
