I reload for the .25-36 Marlin which is almost identical to the Winchester .25-35. I use a 117 gr. bullet with 16.5 grs. of 4198 that's a nice load for most older guns and accurate in my 1893 Marlin takedown out to 500 yds.
I just bought a 1885 High Wall takedown in .25-35 and going to get back to loading for it also. I'll try the same load in it also. I have an old NOE mold that's a flat point design for repeaters.

Are you using cast or jacketed bullets?

I've got a highwall in 25-35.  I've only had it out a couple of times but it seems to shoot very well.  It has a fair bit of pitting at the start of the bore but it doesn't seem to matter.  Last time out I shot few sub moa 3 shot groups at 100m through the old peep sites it came with.

I'm using Hornady 117gr SST's with 22gr IMR-3031.   It gives about 2000 fps.   I based the loads on data for 117gr lever gun bullets.  Seems good so far.

Had a 94 Win. 25-35 several years ago that for a lever gun shot pretty well. It was a rifle and not the carbine length barrel. Should have kept that gun....
