Early Kingsland Patent De-Re Prime tool .40

Early iron?  H A Kingsland  tool.
The decapping rod floats and the bottom lever decaps and the top caps. On the priming stoke the deprime rod drops down,quite clever.
It's  quite awkward to get your new primer in there but it is doable. I believe this was one of the one first de -re tools of this type


I am not sure what 40 this may be for.A 40-65 was too large a rim,but tested with 44 Special that rim was perfect to center priming rod

Very neat old tool! Maybe it's for .40-63/70 Ballard cartridges? Where'd you find that George?

A friend bought it at auction and I just made the missing de- priming rods.He hoped to use it in his 40-65 but it won't work.i traded him a
Pope knock off in 45-70 and turned the rod down to .40 for him.

I hadn't looked at any of my cartridge books , but I too thought it might have been for  of those Marlin cartridges you mentioned.
