Has anyone played with this powder in these calibers? 165 and/or 180 grain bullets.
Thanks!

I've used it quite a bit in both those calibers but, with heavier bullets, 190 to 206 gr in 32/40 and 170-197 gr in 8.15x46r.

12.5 - 13.5 in 32/40 and have gone as high as 15.0. My best 8.15x46r was 10.5 gr but, 12.0 gr 4227 had better accuracy, all loads BSed.

I have had good luck with N110 in 8.15x46R.

The N100 series of powders is very similar to IMR series, both are nitrocellulose (single based) stick powders and come over a range of burn rates. N110 corresponds most similar to IMR 4227.

The plot below shows the velocity I get from my Aydt with different charges of IMR 4227 in green and N110 in red (only one point, 11 gr). For the same charge it gives a bit higher velocity compared to 4227. This is with a 182 gr stop-ring bullet (32-182L from Accurate molds) with a 20/1 alloy.

I find that given the charge only fills about 40% capacity so it tends to be somewhat position sensitive. I have tried light kapok puff and crumpled up blotting paper. The kapok does a better job of getting the velocities more uniform.

I was using mostly Fed 210 and Rem 9 1/2 primers for my tests if that matters too.

Happy to answer any more questions if you have any.
Thanks,
-Dave

Just started working with 110 in my 32-40s. Initial loads around 13 grains with a 185 grain spitzer have looked very promising.

I had to go look up the differences between N110 and H110. VV N110 is a single base extruded powder and cleaner burning than Hodgdon's H110 granular powder and supposed to avoid some of the possible problems of H110. It is also more expensive. Saratoga Bill, which "110"?
