I didn't see anything stating it was recut to cast a tapered bullet?

I didn't see where it was recut- confusing title the seller used. It does appear to be bigger in the base, so maybe that was enlarged from original.
Might be worth it to somebody with a .38 cal rifle, because the old Winchester molds are pretty nice to cast with since they are light in weight and handle really well compared to some setups.

FYI, it's quite common for the vendors on eBay to misidentify items for sale and they often have no idea at all what the item is. As an example, I once bought a Schoyen-Peterson 32-40 mold that was described as "old bullet mold."  The vendor is simply reading what's stamped on the handle. It's pretty obvious, at least to me, that it's a Winchester mold that someone has skillfully milled out and brazed in some blocks of steel and re-cut to cast a tapered Pope bullet. I would guess that it's a 32-40, but as always Caveat Emptor.

I thought about making him an offer until I saw his shipping fee of $25.00.

I thought it looked more like someone brazed the handles to a pair of blocks, than brazed in inserts. I only see metal color change on the handle side, and not the other side of the blocks. And exterior shows the copper color where the brazing rod flowed on the handle side. Looks like the blocks were drilled and tapped to attach to the handles, and then brazed to make them permanent.

Vent lines…?

I haven’t seen a mould without them

Many early blocks don't have them, and seem to work fine most often.

I have Pope molds with and without vent lines. Pope charged extra to have him cut vent lines so not all of his molds had them.
