Friend bpjack is going in for cataract surgery this morning.
Jack has been worried about it so I was trying to bolster him up in my emails. I told him to just relax and let them do their thing and he would be fine. I also added that he should not talk or move during the procedure. This was his reply.
"No talking? I am screwed! I had better start shopping for eye patches. Maybe amputate my right leg and get fitted for a peg leg, buy a tricorn hat and a parrot. A flintlock pistol and a frock coat and I am all set."
I responded that he only had to stop talking for ten or fifteen minutes and that he could do it. I also told him that Long John Silver never had an eye patch and sent him this picture. I'm not sure Jack can stop talking for fifteen minutes so please, lets all prey for Jack this morning.

So I should wait to have my leg amputated then?
I have an email into Treebone to see if they have any 90% peg legs available.

Plenty of time for peg legs and parrots later.

My only regret about having cataract surgery was having put it off so long. Squeamish about laying there awake while they did it. Afterwards it was like the world was a whole new place. It didn't hurt that I was immediately back in the iron sight game again too, and stray dogs obeyed my every command, beer was tastier, and beautiful women started asking me to escort them to the Riviera topless beaches.

Don’t let my wife know about the topless beaches. I have a standing restraining order about me going topless.

I am on the younger side (39) but just had LASIK in both eyes at the same time. Recovery was good, and I went from wearing glasses since 3rd grade to 20/15 the next morning. Cataract surgery was similar for my mom.
It may hurt like hell the evening afterwards, but it's gone by the morning. I had the surgery Thursday, and was shooting Saturday. Kept it to a .22 though in case recoil was a problem

Boy! I really envy Gnoahh that those mutts obey him now. Of all the things I hoped for when I got my eyes done, that was the one I hoped for.
I know you are gonna really like that outcome, Jack, get well soon (only a day two for me).

My cataract surgery on my dominant right eye, then the other a month later went easy and pain free. The wet Macular Degeneration in my left eye is a bit problematic what with monthly injections, etc, but it hasn’t affected my shooting eye yet. Both my old friend Charlie Dell years ago and now my younger brother have variants of forms of Wet MD in their dominant eye, which [u]is[/] problematic for shooting.

He's gone quiet on his end. Probably trying to keep his hospital gown closed in the rear.

Maybe on the way to jail. Poor eyesight and all, probably put the gown on backwards and walked into the wrong room.
