is my Alberta Schuetzen Lube too old?

I have a couple of pounds of Alberta Schuetzen lube that I bought several years back.  ( Dave I bought it from you maybe the last time you shot silhouette with us ).  It's getting a bit crumbly and today I had no lube star at all on the muzzle of my 28" bbl CPA 32-40.  The face of the muzzle was completely dry of lube.

Should I chuck it?  Add a bit of anhydrous lanolin to revive it, or try making my own batch?

Chris.

I have been using a block ten years old and it has shown no decline in condition but I have kept it in a plastic bag.

If yours has been open to the elements and is showing a change in consistency - try melting it down. Should return to its original condition.

Thanks Dave.  It's always been stored in freezer bags.  The one block is just getting a little crumbly around the edges.  It's old but not 10 years old.  Maybe I'll melt the two blocks together.  One has never been used and the other has been used many times.

My ten year old Alberta Schuetzen Lube has not started to crumble.
It has been stored on the shelf in the basement in a plastic bag for 10 years.
But that BC climate appears to be very oxidizing.
I only stored lubed bullets in the freezer.
