For your consideration is an rare, early war 1st Model Merrill carbine in .54. The carbine is in good condition with a good bore. The unique plunger mechanism is functional and in good shape. There is no pitting or damage to the rifle. The brass patch box features what is most likely an orginal replacement nipple and the current nipple is in good working order. The stock is sound with typical handling marks. The buttstock itself has the characteristic saddle wear from being carried by a calvary trooper and a single point sling and scabbard.

The carbines SN according to the SRS database puts it in a range of Merrills issued to B Co 1st Kentucky Volunteer Calvary. The results of the search are avaliable for you to view.
