Flobert ?

This arrived today.  .22 rf chambers but the bullet is too big to start at the muzzle.  Tiny, with the Breach .800 across the Flats and .500 dia at the Muzzle.  Another Winter Project.  David

I think the 6MM Flobert is a bit smaller. Not sure but I think you can still find ammo? Has it been re chambered? Really like those set triggers.

As they say, the Plot Thickens....  6mm is .240" but I looked up Flobert Ammo and the Bullet Dia does run less than 6 mm.  Seems different sizes were available🤔  Slugged the barrel and across the Grooves I get .221 and a .214 gage pin enters.  The Butt Plate has 22 stamped as well as the Barrel underneath the Forend but that is probably an Assembly Number.   Google search is a dead end except some High End British Rook Rifles that look very similar.  Next up is a Chamber Cast.  David

When I googled 6 mm flobert ammo, it's basically  .22 BB caps.

From your pin gauge measurements it sounds like you may need 5.5mm Flobert.  Neal may have them in stock.

David, youre not the only one who got a surprise from Joe Pyle. I was high bidder on the Ballard Perfection ‘44’…turns out its a 40-65 Everlasting with a great bore.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

.22 is 5.6mm. a 6mm Flobert round is larger than a .22.

The Czech company Sellier & Bellot still makes 4mm (Lang), 5.6mm, and 6mm cartridges. And you can occasionally find them in stock at SG Ammo, which is where I've purchased them.

The RWS made cartridges can still be found at gun shows. Though it getting tough. I shoot all 3 calibers.

Thanks for the correction on dimensions. I was wrong. I had a European military training rifle in 4MM that no one would buy because I couldn't find ammunition for it. Finally sold it at auction.
