Selling at the Tulsa show?

I've never been to the Tulsa show.  I'm considering going this year, and setting up a table to sell.  I haven't called to see if they have tables available, but my understanding is that most of the good tables are reserved year to year, and newcomers, if they get a table, get put out into some third rate wasteland.

Is that a fair assessment, and would it be worthwhile as a seller to do?

I'd be taking a lot of antique collectible ammo, and a supply of the Jamison brass I have available.

My wife would like to get away at the start of winter here, but we could just go to Moab for a few days, go on to AZ or NM or TX from there without the excuse of setting up at the show.  And, have a more fun vehicle instead of the truck.

Is it worth the trip to go, as a seller?  I'd be tied to the table for a good chunk of the time, so wouldn't be able to see much of the stuff for sale.

dave,  i've been doing the tulsa show for over 30 years. i have had 4 tables in the same spot for a lot of them.  it is a big show and a lot of people ,potential buyers. i am down to only a few shows a year now and this is one i will not miss.  when you call ask about tables down stairs thats where most of the antiques are. if you are going better call about motels soon, they fill up.   tony<><

Dave, I was finally able to get to the Tulsa show last Novermber. I didnt see any tables that were stuck in any kind of no mans land like at the end of a hallway next to a utility closet. Every vender I saw was part if the main display body.

If you do go you may get lucky and end up next to the ‘Tactical Girls’ selling calenders who will increase the traffic in your area, improve the landscape, and keep you reminded of what day it is.
Hope this helps.

I went a few years ago with a friend and we had to walk a good mile to get to the entrance from where we had to park. We got started around 10am and by 6pm we were only half way through visiting the tables. We were unable to find a motel ahead of time so never got back to see everything else.
To me, prices seemed high on firearms but very reasonable on most accessories. I got a full case of wolf 22lr match ammo for $2.25 per a box of 50 and the going price at the time was $3.50.
Plus I found a vernier elevated tang sight for my 1885 for just $180! Smiley

I’ve been attending the Tulsa show for more than 30 years and have had a table there for the last 12 years or so.  We started at the east end of the upper level where you are not allowed to set up til early Saturday morning (I think that is still the case) and gradually moved to our current location not far from the stairs going down to the lower level and we can set up on Friday.
But even our starting location was good and well worth doing. It’s true that long term vendors tend to reserve their location from show to show but we gradually improved ours as tables became available.
The lower level does tend to have more antique and vintage firearms but they can be found throughout the show, lower and upper floors. It’s the biggest show in the country and well worth doing.

I've been there several times and generally can park right outside the building in view of The Golden Driller.  I do tend to show up an hour early though.
