Fully Matted Winchester HW 32-40

30 inch No.4 full octagon with three fully matted flats. Excellent bore with faint peppering forward of chamber. Receiver original faded case colors that has varnish applied. Nickle factory spur lever. Original factory tang sight. Rare factory wind guage front sight with bubble level. According to factory records butt stock was originally a shotgun butt. Expertly modified with cheekpiece and added nickle buttplate possibly done my Emil Pachmayer or Joseph Singer. Non checkered forearm with Winchester palm rest base. Overall a well preserved California Schuetzen. 
25 power Lyman SST available separate but Not included in sale price. $4500 for rifle shipped in a hard case.

Question about the "matting". Is this a roll form like lettering or machined into the surface? Just curious...

Matted barrels use a roll die.
Got a message from Joe (Westerner) who tells me it's done by "engine turning". Guess a roll die is incorrect.

That is Ray Day in the center of photo at 1982 Coor's schuetzenfest. I have many photos of the shoot I should post if I took the time to learn how.
